Just curious how many are members of Diabetes UK here?

I’ve recently joined because I feel it’s the right thing to do and I can spare the £.
Obviously there’s zero requirement to donate to use the forum and that’s exactly how it should be with the advice they offer but I’m just curious.

Goes without saying that not answering doesn’t indicate that you’re not a supporter of the charity either!!

Hi @ColinUK
Yes I am a member. Mainly because I think DUK do a great job, and it is a small way to show some support.
There are a few useful benefits as well, like email updates and the Balance magazine.
Absolutely agree as well, that membership of the forum should remain free to everyone.

Yes I’m a member too and don’t mind the £ as I have the spare money and I know it will be well spent.

As usual I have no idea what's going on? I didn't know there was anything to join. 🙂

I'll join, no show without Punch... what do I do then?

Thank you. Peoples are very obliging on this forum. 🙂

Good grief, it won't let me do it, says error on the form.

I did it t’other way about. I’d been a member and contributor to DUK in all its iterations long before I joined the forum. I expect quite a few of us did it that way round.

I’m also a member and have been for a few years. It’s not that much per month so don’t notice it. My only gripe is all the “ rubbish” that comes with the mag! Not all diabetics are over a certain age and need walk in baths and bra extenders??? Me neither! 😛

I am member and have been a number of years, I think when I joined it was set fee. Though I got a call about 8 years ago trying to pressure me to increase my contribution, it made me think twice about cancelling it altogether.

hi, I’ve just joined , I too had no idea about it. Glad to support

I'm not a member and won't be unless they change their stance on appropriate diets and sponsorship by the companies that give us T2D in the first place.
This Forum however is a much better place for a Type 2 to get advice.

Yep I'm a member and I have a DD for their lottery too. Only too glad to support research and support.

This forum was not started by Diabetes UK, and did not always have input from them.

Must admit though, I used to get the magazine as a young teenager, it’s not as good now as it was then.

I work in charity fundraising and hopefully nobody pressurised you. Obviously there’s a need to ask for support and it makes sense to ask those already supporting whether they can do more. But you can always opt out of fundraising calls, emails, post etc.

Have you ever fed back to DUK about the magazine changes?
