Medtronic apps

I was confused when I phones Medtronic to report a sensor that finished early. No problem with replacements but a couple of things came up

Apps
The advisor asked why I wasn’t using the Simplera App. I had never heard of it and in our training for the Simplera they asked us to download the minimed mobile app and set that up with the link to Carelink.
Has anyone had experience of the Simplera App?
Does it do anything different from the Minimed mobile app?
I looked at the App Store but couldn’t see any difference in what it does.

Life of a sensor
At our training we were told that the Simplera sensors last 7 days.
The advisor said that they should last 6 days and some last for seven.
I am wondering if this is due to the number that are finishing early.
I have had 50% finish on day 4 or 5. Always replaced but now I am wondering whether they will replace ones that last 6 days. Not such a problem now as I have funding but wondered if anyone has been refused a replacement for a 6 day sensor?

I think they must mean the Minimed Mobile App - that’s the one that my trainer suggested, and which links to my Simpleras (showing how long they have left to run etc)

interestingly I’ve just looked it up and there IS a separate app just for Simplera.

It looks like it would be the one you’d use if you didn’t have a pump and were using the Simplera stand-alone - it just reports Simplera data via Bluetooth, but I don’t think it tracks things like pump set change etc?

Thanks Mike
We were certainly pointed to the minimed mobile app at the training and I couldn’t see anything the Simplera one did any more, and as you say it does not track our pumps.

I might be wrong, but I think that there are two Simperas. The Simplera and the Simplera Sync. the standard one is for stand alone use/use with their smartpen, the Sync for use in HCL.
The Simplera app is for use in standalone, MiniMed Mobile for use in HCL

I think you are right Quicy. The person I spoke to just seemed a bit confused. Very happy using minimed mobile app with the downloads.

The pump was irritating last night. At about 3:00 am I was woken by a request for a BG test as my levels had not changed at all for over three hours!!!! That is her job and she had done it perfectly keeping me at a nice 5.1. I guess she just wanted some recognition of what a good job she was doing. I did not have my test kit with me so just guessed and she seemed happy and let me go back to sleep!!!
