Hi

I have had one of those asthma chest infection things for the last month, loads of antibiotics and prednisolene. After whole 2 courses - my vision has altered again - I have been told since I was 15 (connected to my asthma) that any change in medication and health could have some effect on my vision, but this time it is extreme, I will not be driving anywhere for several weeks by the seem of things. Back to walking and the bus.
what a pain!!

Very sorry to hear about the effects of the meds on your eyes Andrew, it must be very frustrating for you :(

Any ideas

Hi

Has anyone ever had any ideas as to methods of contoling diet - exercise so as to contol the effect on eye muscels - it may be a long shot but the optician has said that it is not worth giving me glasses to match my present state as they should revert to 'normal in a few weeks or at worst a couple of months!!!!!!

Oh yes it very definatly is

on this case i do not have an old pair of glasses to match my present state!! so we will have to see how long it takes

What are your blood sugar levels like at the moment Andrew? Because of the medication, if they are higher than normal then this is probably why you have the blurry vision. Nothing that can be done as far as I know if this is the case, except to try and keep your levels within range.

I hope you get things sorted soon, life with blurry vision can be quite miserable if it stops you doing the things you enjoy.

I always say the upside of public transport is you get to me some interesting people and have some good conversations. Over the years i have learned a lot this way.

I think prednisolene is a steroid - and steroids are well known for increasing blood sugar levels. Infections can increase your blood sugars too. It could well be that the combination of the two is pushing your levels up and that is affecting your vision.

Could you call your GP for a phone consultation to see if they can advise anything...
