Find me one that I like enough to wear that's affordable then .....

No I don't carry any ID on me haven't done so for a long time...

I find that bracelets etc are a false security...

If somebody doesn't click, my insulin pump, blood glucose meter, test strips etc and don't click that I have an medical condition they are very unlikely to start looking for medical Alert bracelets etc...

Most of the general public aren't aware of Medical Alert jewellery in the first place, so first thing they do is rummage through bags, handbags and pockets etc... Looking for purses, wallets and mobile phones to find out who you are, and somebody to contact...

So I have ICE, T1 diabetic programmed into my mobile with emergency numbers attached, and generally have my driving licence on me as well...

I doubt that a lot of people with have any idea what ICE means and isn't your phone locked against casual use? You need a pass key to get access to my contact book.
The medical IDs are for the use of paramedics/doctors etc so you don't get pumped with glucose after an accident😱

In my purse i have a card it came with one of my meters, it has my type of diabetes and contact number for my NOK

?80 though, eek. And a stainless steel bar with gold? No thanks.

Am I the only one who had it tattooed on my forehead at diagnosis then? 😱 😉

Didn't you get the Barcode then where you live?

Think they are going to microchip us all anyway soon aren't they?

How many carbs in a microchip? They should be diabetic friendly:D

Yes, you have to go to your local vet. Apparently you will then show up as a burden on society charged with bankrupting the NHS every time you try to buy chocolates...😉

I wear a stainless steel dog tag. Looks cool, cost me a whole ?2 and it's lasted me for over a decade. Why faff around with an expensive 'official' meditag, and if you're a bloke, why on earth would you choose to wear a girly bracelet?

I do a lot of work in a shopping ctr & a young lad collapsed on the floor. The security guards who where all very good but thought he had to much beer inside him. They tried to get some sort of id & guess what T1. Team on there way but he was Quite out of it "Thank ---" he had some id

I have several silacone wristbands. You can have name, any medical information, phone number of someone to call etc on them. I got mine off e-bay. They only cost a couple of pounds. They are so cheap you can differant colours. I even have a band which glows in the dark! You never know where or when you might have a hypo.

I wouldn't wear a wristband or a bracelet with beads. Having only a 6" wrist, ID bracelets usually look ridiculous, all ID bar and no bracelet. with a 1.5ins bar, that would give max a quarter of an inch either side of it, across the width of my wrist. And also catch on my wristbone and anything loose or chunky, clunks on the edge of the desk.

Just not practical at all.

I have a similar problem with wearing things on my wrists, as my wrists are only 6.5".

I wear a necklace with a stainless steel pendant. Reverse says that I am insulin dependant. I think it cost under ?15.

H has a necklace -from the ID Band company- were on the 2nd hes lost one already!!!! and most of the time forgets to wear it - able to fit alot of info ICE numbers etc
