Diagnosed Type 2 on 5 August 2021
No meds at the moment.

Haemoglobin A1c level 6.5 % [4.0 - 5.9] Haemoglobin A1c level - IFCC standardised 48 mmol/mol [20.0 - 41.0]
Weight at diagnosis: 160 pounds (72.5kg)
Weight at last check: 141 pounds (63.9kg) - into healthy weight finally !!! 140 pounds (63.5kg) 135.5 pounds (61.46kg) 135 pounds (61.23kg)
Next check-up due in April 2022 - or maybe not ....
HbA1c blood test taken 23 May 2022 - DN appointment due 9 June 2022
RESULT from online records 25.05.2022: Haemoglobin A1c level - IFCC standardised (XaPbt) 45 mmol/mol - this, I presume, puts me back down into the PRE-diabetic range!

COPD (Use Ventolin and Clenil), High Blood Pressure, Hay Fever, Fruit allergy, Weak tendon in arm, Damaged coccyx. Low platelets - Update: I've now been told the level is near normal now - maybe due to all the steroids I've had to take since December
Many food intolerances such as white processed bread (due to yeast not having enough time to make product edible before being baked), olive oil, peppermint oil, raw tomatoes, oranges - the list seems to grow continuously...... add on another type of hay fever med and lettuce

HbA1c Hovered between 54 - 46 from that time for 3 years with full 2000mg Metformin dose...
...until NHS Low Calorie Diet started in May 2021 - Stopped ALL Meds incl. Statins (Statins may play a part again at some stage)
(Low Calorie Diet completed August 2021, and real food from then on)
I lost 20Kg and am now really happy with my weight at 57-58Kg (I'm only 5ft 4"!), and I feel fitter and way more energy than I have done in years!

June 2021; Initial Diagnosis; Finger-Prick reading 29.6mmol/l. Started on Gliclazide (2 x 40mg) and Metformin (2 x 500mg) immediately. Given True Metrix Air BG meter. Begin measuring BG daily. I've also been taking 1 x 20mg Atorvastatin owing to having high cholesterol.
July 2021; Initial HbA1C at 110mmol. Medication quickly increased to "full" doses; 4 x 500mg Metformin. 4 x 40mg Gliclazide. Finger-Prick average 8.8mmol/l.
September 2021; Gliclazide reduced to 2 x 40mg. Finger-Prick average 6.6mmol/l
November 2021; HbA1C at 35mmol. Gliclazide reduced to 0 (Zero). Finger-Prick average 5.8mmol/l.
April 2022; HbA1C at 38mmol. Metformin reduced to 2 x 500mg.
Jun 2023: HbA1C at 60mmol. Metformin dose increased to 4 x 500mg. Further complications diagnosed; Hypertension (requires 1 x 2.5mg Raprimil), NAFLD (FIB score-2.4, no medication, only lifestyle changes).
Feb 2024: HbA1C at 41mmol MAFLD (was NAFLD) FiB score-1, MAFLD "Resolved".
Feb 2025: HbA1C at 45mmol
