It was a joke about rabbits diet ie lettuce and carrots lol
I don't cook in oil dry fry everything have low fat mince etc but with the festive season we all or some over indulge.
My doctor said my cholesterol had to be 3.3 so not sure why to be honest I was surprised cos I thought 3.5 was good .
I would have thought 3.5 was good, we all need some cholesterol as it is needed for lots of body functions, tissue healing etc.
Some healthy fats will help to increase the proportion of good cholesterol and lower the bad so people often will look at the ratio of those not just the total, though others will dispute that that is important.

God this is a complicated and confusing condition, people finding that everybody reacts differently is so true. I ignore the fats I eat, happily munching on anything including lots of cream and cheese, peanut butter etc. yet my cholesterol numbers are totally unaffected and in specification. well for the moment anyway, who knows it will probably change in the future.

Thank you so much for posting. I will have a look. Some of the dietary advise I’m reading on managing a diabetic friendly diet and a cholesterol friendly on contradicts making me confused as to how to manage bother together. It’s all very New and confusing.
I agree….am confused too. I am prediabetic and was managing a low carb diet successfully…then I was told my cholesterol is too high. I find that advice for managing both problems clashes considerably.

How high is your cholesterol, it may be only temporary until your body adjusts to a new way of eating.

My reading was 6 and am taking Simvastatin 20mg. I was very reluctant to take meds. I should be having a blood test shortly so I will be interested to see what the reading is then….

Cholesterol is not a fat, it is a sterol, one of the lipoproteins. Your brain and nervous system are made of it, it is highly important for hormones and other essential compounds in the body, it increases when you are losing weight as it is involved in the transport of fat in the bloodstream and a lack of it for that purpose could be detrimental to weight management.
I have asked everyone who advised me to take Atorvastatin for data on the reduction in ill health it results in - I am still waiting.
