I used to get through colds no problems when I was younger but I'm struggling with this one... sneezing, coughing, ears blocked, hot and cold sweats so have taken time off work. All that aside my biggest annoyance is my glucose levels, I just can't seem to get them under control. E.g. with breakfast I usually take 6units of Novorapid, today I upped it to 10, 2 hours later and test revealed 24mmol so in annoyance i went for another 12 units and still it took 3 hours to get back into single figures. So I'm wondering should I up my Toujeo tonight or just use Novorapid as required and test every hour until better?

Hi John, welcome. I'm sorry I can't help you but just letting you know other insulin users will come along who will be able to help with your query. Take care

Hi John . Sorry to hear you’re ill. Hope you feel better soon. Others more experienced than me will be along who may say differently personally if I was ill and levels were high I wouldn’t up my basal in case my levels stabilised naturally , then I’d be fighting lows till the increased basal was out of my system.

Hope you find these helpful.
