Not sure I’d call 34% carbs a low carb item, but if it’s working for you then it’s a great find.

34g is for 100g, a usual portion is 45g making it just under 17g carbs per serving.
Compare that to 2 weetabix which are 26g carb per serving , I would say that is definitely low carb.
Lower is not the same as low.

And a portion being low carb because it’s tiny/small is not the same as a food item being intrinsically low in itself. A teaspoon of sugar is only a few g of carbs but it’s most definitely not a low carb item.

Is your portion really just 45g? To me that looks like a small child’s portion.
And if you don’t need to be low carb (as a type 1) that’s just fine. For most type 2 that do not match carbs to insulin and are dealing with insulin resistance it makes a difference and for them to believe it’s a low carb item would be misleading.

I'm type 1 matching carbs to insulin and I find 45g with a good dollop of full fat greek yoghurt is enough for me. But each to their own , what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

Yes, I generally stick to the portion sizes for cereals too. It makes it easier to remember the carbs. It’s surprising how much the carbs in granola can vary. Some I’ve seen have been around 75g carbs whereas my current one is around 44g (per 100g). Tasty too 🙂

ahh a little goes much further with a good dollop of Greek yoghurt More a topping than a bowl of cereal alone.

I tried to convey I understand it’s working for you. And that there’s nothing wrong with it for you imo

My point was to clarify that it isn’t really low carb though - as I didn’t want a type 2 reading this to be misled by that description

I use a normal nutty granola (Lidl Deluxe) which I think is about 56.6g carbs/100g but I only have a tiny sprinkle, less that 10g on my breakfast yoghurt, fruit and seeds and not every day, so the pouch lasts me 2-3 months.

I think that isn't a bad find at 34gcarbs/100g for when you are on holiday and the fibre content is really impressive at 12.8g/100g! Yes, those of us on insulin can be a little less strict with the carbs than many Type 2s but I think for when people are on holiday self catering this is a very reasonable option.

Looks low to me.

Wife loves granola, only time I bother is away from home & staying in hotels & have some sprinkled on top of my fruit n natural yogurt, after that it's full english fry up time.
