Hello!

I want to get into baking, is there a low carb cake mix that has good texture and taste?

I tried some low carb cakes/brownies and they were inedible.

Thanks!

I wouldn't have thought so if you're thinking traditional cakes - they're pretty much made of flour for texture, but if you're willing to stretch the definition of 'cake' there are some quite nice foods to be had which are similar - I made some really nice nutty bites which were made of peanut butter, coconut flour, ground almonds a few oats, nuts and seeds. I wish I could tell you the recipe, but I just added stuff I fancied until it looked more or less like biscuit dough.
Cheesecake is possible too, as long as you use a nutty base, not a biscuit one.

A company call Sukrin do LC/sugar free/gluten free cake mix, but it surely comes at a price!

To be honest, for the cost of one Sukrin mix, you could have several experiments and with luck find a way of achieving something you like. There are so many recipes out there to have some decent adventures.

@Mark Parrott is amazing with his low carb foods. Hopefully you have any recipes mark??

Aw, shucks!😳 Looks like i'm in demand. The best thing in the world that i've made is my chocolate orange cheesecake. It's in the recipe section on here. The yule log I did at christmas had the best low carb sponge i've ever tried. Best to start with something simple, such as chocolate rum truffles (85% choc, double cream & rum).
