I don’t drink a lot, but thinking ahead there are a couple of birthdays, occasions coming up where a beer might be nice, just wondering whether anyone has tried the lower carb beers or ciders and opinion?
or do I just stick to a gin and slimline tonic!

If you like a Bitter try Old Speckled Hen or Ghost Ship, Morretti if you like a European lager, Pure Brew by Guiness for a standard lager, or if you like wheat beer try Clausthaler. These are common in Supermarkets. Also good if you are in Portugal are Super Bock and Sagres.

I think of you aren’t going to have much, and aren’t making a habit of it you should just enjoy whichever you fancy rather than risking your rare beer on a ‘weird one’ you may not enjoy?

Me - I'd like the G&T for preference, thanks but if I fancied half a pint of cider or lager (wouldn't thank you for either bitter or mild) I'd have it. Neither of us drinks anything alcoholic these days regularly, so both are more affected by what we do consume hence need to think about it before diving in and drinking 'gallons' - we sleep better though!

I don’t drink often but when I have lager I prefer this one Michelob Ultra, it’s around 2 carbs per 100ml.
A rum and diet coke would be my first choice though .
