At risk of diabetes
Hi I have come over very shaky and did a finger prick reading with my glucose monitor and it was only 3.8. Can anyone help me with why that would be so low?

Are you on any medication? 3.8 would be an ok blood sugar for someone without diabetes. Did you eat something and are you ok now?

The reason for the shakes is most likely because your body has over time got entirely used to having much higher blood glucose, hence when it drops quickly to a normal low level - the body objects to it.

As Inka says, the easiest thing to stop it quick is to eat something - but not like a large jam doughnut. A cuppa and ONE biscuit should do it nicely.

I'm not on medication, I'm prediabetic. I ate a banana and then did a test about an hour later and it was 6.6

When I ate the banana and had a cup of tea I felt fine!
