Hi and welcome

Lovely that you want to support your husband. Can you tell us a bit about his diabetes.... ie How long he has been diagnosed? What if any medication he is taking for it and what if any dietary changes he has made? Also, if you know the result of his most recent HbA1c test.... this is the blood test result used to diagnose and monitor diabetes management and will usually be a number of 48 or more but can be into 3 figures if things are particularly advanced. Knowing that number gives us an idea of how significant and changes might need to be and helps us give more appropriate advice.
So if he is only on 49 or low 50s he might only need to make a few tweaks to his diet and/or get out for a daily walk if he is able whereas, if he is up at 80+ more significant changes are going to be needed probably in conjunction with medication.

Anyway, hope to hear more from you soon and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
