Losing 2-4 pounds a week/fortnight

Probably need a different thread for this but don’t want to keep repeating all the stroke stuff.
Anyway felt good the last couple of months but the previous two days been fairly inactive. Today hit the garden , proper stuff even got the spade out to edge the lawn. Fell over as well but had falling over training , my NP also trained with the Paras. Getting up was a strain but achieved, pleased with myself carried on even had a careful walk out the back , no stick. Brilliant four hours. In the end put a stop to it.
By then staggered indoors kicked my trainers off and collapsed on the couch and went straight to sleep.
When I woke up I felt really bad, not tired , just bad. First time I’ve felt like that for ages. I’m conflicted though was that a stroke backlash or a diabetes thing ?
I know one thing it scared me , again not an emotion I normally feel.
What’s the symptoms of a sugar spike or whatever it’s called ?
See what I mean I think I know it all . I really don’t.

Nobody knows it all, but lots of people on here contribute brilliantly to the bigger picture. It's just finding the overlaps of our own puzzles! Thanks for posting. Off for some heavy exercise: changing the quilt cover!

Changing the duvet is a proper pain! I just grab the corners now and wiggle, hoping for the best. 🙄 Wiggle the quilt, not wiggle me. :D

I thought I was having another stroke the other night, my arms went weird and my hands fuzzy. Very scary. Er, what's this thread again? :D Oh weight loss. That's me out then. 😳

Ah you’ve had a stroke as well. My stroke was left side. I get the left arm, feels numb tingly thing apparently it can be caused by over exertion, stress, anger. I’m far from blasé about it but I’m on blood thinners and there’s a couple of simple physical tests you can do on yourself. None of which are definitive but I had a bad fall indoors bashed my head hard on a cupboard edge. In theory should have phoned an ambulance just in case did these various things , phoned my NR and decided not to bother with ambulance. Frankly going to hospital sitting around waiting would be more likely to give me a stroke.

Remember the mnemonic for signs of a stroke.
F A S T (face, arms, smile, telephone)
It could save you life never ignore it however much of a nuisance it might be.

What about numb lips and a constant slight right side of the mouth drool? Charming! :( I have those all the time now. I feel it's just a matter of time before I have another.

im still loosing 3-4 pounds a fortnight am happy with that

Have now lost 3 stone all my t-shirts are now extra loose and my skirts (elasticated ) are now needing to be taken in Not going to buy any more yet as i think i have a way to go yet Have gone from a size 32 to a 26. You may be surprised as people often complain they cannot get larger sized good quality clothes at a reasonable price, worth a try.

Agreeing that it's worth a try Gail, there's plenty of us bigger girls out there looking for bargains on vinted.

That’s not the mnemonic though, it’s speech not smile

  • Face: Is the person's face drooping or numb? Can they smile?
  • Arm: Is one arm weak or numb? Can the person raise both arms fully and keep them there?
  • Speech: Is the person's speech slurred or difficult to understand? Can they repeat a simple sentence correctly?
  • Time: If you see any of these signs, call emergency services immediately

Gail - to me, your logic is absolutely correct you ARE losing a sensible amount of weight and there's no need whatsoever to change that, especially not mega quickly. I know you sometimes have a hard time with changes - so don't change anything you aren't sure you really really want - or need - to change, is what I think.

Re stroke. I don't feel I had any of those symptoms. I was just reading in bed, quietly. I just felt really icy cold on my face. It did feel very strange but nothing I would associate with a stroke. It was days before I even thought to get help. They were a bit flabbergasted. 🙄

i have a long way to go about another 7 stone to loose i think it will take me 2-3 years at this rate if i continue at this rate It involes total change of eating habbots/behavoir but i will get there The way i see it is nota diet its a total change of lifestyle
