Looking for recommendations for high protein, low fat, low carb snacks.

It also seems that those who do not have a low cholesterol level, live longer - but as cholesterol forms part of our immune defences, it isn't really all that surprising that cholesterol can help with survival into old age.
I think that was a myth that has been thoroughly disproved now unfortunately.

It was a old study done by including third world countries where the primarily cause of death was starvation and disease, and when blood was tested after death, indeed the victim was low in most vital substances.

Higher cholesterol leads to a much greater death rate primarily from cardiovascular events when starvation is excluded.

If you mean you have a different study, can you link it so we can all read it. Or do you mean that was the study you referred to and you made the wrong conclusion?

Ah, another "all cause" study after death.
I'll stick to the studies of risks associated with direct effect of cholesterol, and I've never seen anyone link or reference a study that proves high cholesterol prevents cardiovascular issues, or that there is any other cause of death that high cholesterol prevents rather than causes, it's always the same studies from "all cause" that propagate the myth I'm afraid.
Every study proves cholesterols, like BG, has a sweet spot.
However, obviously, we all make our choices on the information that's available.

Well - unless someone has introduced euthanasia on the quiet, it would be difficult to fill in the 'age at death' column for such a study.
 
Hi. I've recently started putting my type 2 into remission but I am awful for snacking and I'm looking for any recommendations for snacks that are low carb and low fat I can eat without my blood levels spiking. Thanks in advance.

Looking at the NHS site, it has some good information of amounts.
As does the heart health site


Obviously both sites are aimed at non diabetics who are eating a maximum amount of calories a day.

I found the best route for me was to read and pinch the bits that suited me, while keeping to the rules for other health concerns raised.
For example, nuts and eggs are advised as ok in the heart health site, I eat eggs quite happily, I still avoid nuts because I still watch my overall calorie intake, and nuts are just way too high in fat generally for my diet.
I follow the guidelines on both sites, fats I do eat are the healthy ones, and to the limits on there, accounting for the fat naturally present in the food I eat anyway.
Then again, for me, I just try to avoid snbacks!

Just a thought. But if you’re looking for a high protein, low carb alternative. You could try:

Small amount of fat free cottage cheese or a whey protein isolate shake?
