Welcome to the forum @sunnydawn .
I am glad that you have found the forum.

If you are happy to do so it will help us to make our answers more relevant if you tell us a bit about how you manage your T1.
Are you using Multiple Daily Injections (MDI) or a pump?
Which insulin(s) are you using
Do you use a sensor such as Libre.

I look forward to hearing more from you.
If you have any questions, just ask. Nothing is considered silly on here.

Hi and welcome from me too.
I was a late starter with just over 4 years under my belt now but learned almost everything I know about diabetes from the wonderful people here on the forum..... not just practical tips and general understanding of diabetes but encouragement to experiment on myself and find what works for me and the feeling of being part of a a team not just learning about our own diabetes but helping others with theirs. It is a great place to feel less alone with your diabetes and be part of a community.

If you fancy a daily check in, come and join us on the "Group 7-day waking average" thread. It is a bit like a virtual coffee morning where we post our waking reading (the average bit in the title has gone the journey) and share snippets of our every day lives, hobbies, diabetes struggles and triumphs, have a bit of banter and even learn a bit about different cultures sometimes. All you need is a waking reading, although some people take part even without that.
I will post the link below. No pressure if you don't fancy it but very welcome if you do. You will soon get to know us and get the hang of how it works.....

Of course!

I'm on MDI, using tresiba and novorapid.
I do use a libre 2 sensor, I link it to DiaBox so that I'm able to see my BG on my phone and watch.

Thank you!
Such a lovely post to read this morning

Hey!
I'm T1D and have been for over 24 years now.
I'm beginning to struggle with the day to day and finding it hard to keep my motivation up so decided to join the forum, in the hopes I can siphon off some of your good vibes!
Thanks
Hi @sunnydawn , and welcome to the forum 🙂

Glad to see you're already finding the forum supportive, it truly is such a lovely community of people who are always happy to help.

Sorry to hear you have been struggling, we're here to support so please do reach out should you need, our helpline is signposted at the top of the page too should you wish to have an in-person chat 🙂

If it helps at all to know, we have some great posts under our 'entertainment' thread:

which could certainly provide 'good vibes' 😉

Welcome to the forum @sunnydawn

Well done on your 24 years. Diabetes is the gift that keeps on giving, eh? And never a day off for good behaviour, or birthday or holiday.

Well… apart from those rarest of moments when your diabetes suddenly cooperates for a week and all you have to do is take your jabs and eat your wildly guesstimated carbs and everything inexplicably works like it’s supposed to. :D :D :D

We have all sorts of folks on the forum, some with just a few weeks under their belts and others with many decades - but we are just all muddling through as best we can, making mistakes, getting things wrong, getting annoyed and frustrated and seizing occasional opportunoties to shout “I am a diabetes GENIUS” when we nail a particularly tricky meal.

Look forward to hearing more of your story 🙂
