a free diabetes pack for any child diagnosed with type 1 diabetes as long as they were accompanied by a parent.

So.......................
Guess who at the age of 52 asked the pharmacist for a pack as I was accompanied by my Mum :D

Pharmacist said no, I was far to old to have type 1 diabetes 😱😡

Noooo!!!! 😱 :D If that's what they think they know about T1 then I wouldn't want anything from them! 🙄

I wish I had asked what happened to type 1 children did they grow out of it or turn into type 2's lol

Quite. You do get the impression sometimes that Type 1 is only ever to do with childhood, that somehow the big struggle is making it to adulthood then you'll be fine! 🙄

I'm just concerned there's this whole Logan's Run thing we haven't been told about but is obviously common knowledge to everyone else.

I was thinking that yesterday when reading about the age discrimination in cancer treatment, where there seems to be a cutoff age of 70. Both of my parents were fit and healthy at 70 and my dad is still going strong at 84 - mum has dementia aged 81. Both would have lost years of their lives if denied treatment after 70. And given that I am 54, 70 doesn't seem that old to me any more! 😱

I was told there is an age limit in hospital on resucitating patients and if you are over it even by a day they wont.

Well there was a debacle about that some years ago ISTR Caroline, where oldies files were routinely being marked NFR.

AFAIK it stopped .....
