ok I love liver and how mum makes it all done with own sauce tomatoes seasoning water no added sugar ect we had a small portion of sweet potato that’s it now mine and dads sugars were up last night it’s very confusing actually but just want to know can liver bring the glucose up mine was 20 ( bear in mind I’m only been on insulin three weeks ) and dads that’s normally like 6 to 8 was 19 we can’t understand why it was high please could someone advise

Sweet potato?
They are higher in carbs than ordinary potato and contain more sugars. I would not eat it at all, but as you are on insulin you need to weigh high carb foods and adjust the dose and timing if you wish to include such things in your menu.

I was looking, but I can't find it. I read an article about how offal s a very good source of carbs, particularly the liver, but it depends how you cook it.
I guess the liver is a source of glycogen, so it sort of makes sense.

There are around 28g of carbs in 100g of liver, for future reference. I like it too, but Mrs B doesn’t, so it’s an occasional restaurant treat.

I found it listed as 13, which is why I was confused!

Liver is less than 4 percent carbs, from the data I have collected - I started a notebook in the early 1970s so I don't know where I got the information in the first place, I'm afraid.
You could try slicing and soaking in water for a few hours before cooking, then see if you have less of a reaction.

Been a liver day for me apart from eating it. Yes occasional treat for me to. Liver, onions, bacon and mushrooms.
Does say 3.8g carbs per 100g of lambs liver.
Not good if you eat it to often or is that a myth.?
