Well I'm live on my pump 😱

inserting the cannula wasn't as bad as I'd feared. (My tummy is sore tho so maybe best inserting it stood up next??)

Have to change my cannula on Friday but not the tubing.

So much info my head is going to explode!!

I am tho protecting my tummy from knocks etc

Thanks guys.

I was thinking jerry, seeing as my diabetes is called tom

Ooooh - so exciting - hope all goes well!

Keep us posted 🙂

Great news Laura. Hopefully your cannula will settle and feel comfortable. My son's cannula sometimes stings for a while after insertion, but if it stays sore by about an hour later I would change it. Having said that, when we had the initial training from the rep I had to put one in my own tummy, made a real pig's ear of it somehow and had a very uncomfortable cannula and a lovely multicoloured bruise. Luckily I did a better job of my son's first one 😉

Why is your diabetes called Tom? I hope it's not poor Tom from Tom and Jerry, because he really isn't the baddie. I was always on his side :D

At Last! I'm delighted for you Laura, let's hope things will settle down very soon. I'm sure you'll quickly get the hang of it and your next HbA will be a shocker... In a good way, I mean.

Congratulations! Can I ask why you have to change the canula but not the tubing, just curious 🙂

Thanks guys!

Redkite, I don't know why I called the big bad D as Tom.

Ch1ps, that's what the rep told me today that its a new cannula with tubes every 6 days & then new cannula after 3 days & just keep using the tubing.

All very new & odd.

Ok I have a pump issue already :(

My bolus is set to a maximum of 25u

How do I change this given I'm 5u to 10g in a morning

hope everything is going well!

Hope all is going well. I like Tom and Jerry, sounds great.

Can't believe it's come around so quickly !!
Hope everything settles down and that you're happy with "jerry".

Keep us posted on the progress !

That's common practice with the majority of pumpers saves money and waste. I only ever change my tubing when I change a cartridge which is prob every 10 days at the moment as use a 200u cartridge.

Happy Pumping 🙂

Do you have the Veo Laura? If so, in the "bolus" menu, select "bolus setup", then "max bolus" - you can set your max bolus up to 75 units I think. But it's a safety feature to set it at your personal highest. My son's max bolus is set at 8U.
