Thought I'd post this here as unfortunately no matter how many times I explain what HbA1C is to my family they don't seem to grasp the significance of it...

I went for my 3 monthly review this week and rather than re-doing bloods, they used results for a previous hospital appointment at the end of November. My HbA1C has come down from 81 to 57 in under 3 months!

Very pleased with myself, but the hard work doesn't stop until remission!

Very well done, that is good progress.
Don't worry about your family not grasping it, many who are diagnosed don't understand either.

Awesome effort. That's really good work. Yes, I'm beginning to realise how much misunderstanding there is about diabetes and all the data. To be fair, I resist how much I didn't know or didn't have right. And I thought I knew at least the basics.

Great stuff @mde - you have every right to feel very pleased with your progress so far. Onwards and downwards!

Well done, the hard work you put in is paying off!

Excellent result. You have every right to be chuffed and I am sure it will inspire others who are just starting their journey. Best of luck with your continued success.

That is a great reduction in your HbA1c in such a short time.
Whatever strategies you have used keep going, and if you fancy posting them on here, others could benefit from them too.
Wellmdone.

Thank you all!

Just a low carb diet, try to have no carbs at least 1 day a week. Ensuring I get at leat 10,000 steps a day. Leafy greens, lots of kale and lean meats. A stark difference to my pre-diagnosis lifestyle but I'm getting used to it slowly but surely!

Congratulations on a good hba1c result. Have a merry Christmas and allow yourself an occasional treat because the diabetes fairy is taking the bank holidays off.:star:
