Hopefully you will have both been started on a low dose building up over a few weeks. Taking with food, mid meal can help any stomach effects some but not all get.
If you do, then make sure you get slow or modified release version.

I have no idea what todo next..lost
Welcome to the club nobody wants to join. You've had some great replies so far. Just take it slow and start making the changes to your diet and lifestyle one meal at a time.

If you are going to struggle with an all out change take every meal you eat and think what can I do to reduce the carbs. Reduce the sugar.

I don't have coffee any more but when I do it's black no sugar. Cutting out fizzy drinks was easy for me.

Look at your meal look at your plate and say ok if I add some extra veg (broccoli, kale, spinach) I can reduce the (pasta/bread/rice/potato) and still stay full

If you are the type of person to have sandwiches at lunch skip the bread or only have half the amount of bread but have more salad and veg in the filling / salad.

Just take it one plate of food at a time.

I don't know how active you are but good food choices and exercise are helpful. I've been going out for a short walk nearly every day since I found out just over 2 months ago.

Stay near a lav when you start metformin!
