OK, so I had heart attack number 2 just over 2 months ago.. and subsequently have finally started taking my health seriously. My blood sugar management is good now, and I have lost some weight (1 stone lost to 13st 3lb), and I am at week 6 of the couch to 5k. All good. For the last 6 weeks though I am suffering from light headedness every time I stand up. Every time. I am monitoring my blood pressure, and it is pretty good I think (109/75), and my resting heart rate has improved (from 73 to 57). Every metric tells me I am getting healthier, but at the moment, I am increasingly likely to fall on my face because I stood up.
My next diabetic nurse appointment isn't for a month, but I am wondering if I should see a doc before then?

Congratulations on your great progress @layzellm

Sorry to hear about the lightheadedness - sounds like it would be worth checking with your GP, perhaps a phone appointment or NHS 111 if your surgery is very busy?

Yes I agree with the others, a chat with your GP is definitely in order

Yes see your GP. Sometimes the blood takes a while to get to your head when you stand up quickly. It can be caused by low blood pressure or things like POTS and your GP needs to check you over.

I totally agree with the others lazyll so please MAKE AN URGENT APPOINTMENT TOMORROW TO SEE YOUR GP ~ that is if you haven't already done so. I believe you are in a precarious position.
Take care.

Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell, medical advice of some description sounds appropriate. I dont know much about heart attacks personally but have know a couple of people around me who have suffered them. I was just wondering from what you say if you had cleared your intended couch to 5k with anyone before starting?. 2 months doesnt seem that long ago to me to be starting an adventure like that so soon after a HA. Please please check asap. and let us know how you are.

Hi Layzellm.
I've got heart trouble too, and have been having the same issues. Light headedness and dizzyness (somewhat like vertigo at times).
As people say, get in to see a doctor. Other than that, make a list of your current medications (did the hospital change them 2 months ago). (I know it should be on your GP's system. It's always good, when dealing with both GP and hospitals to have info with you.) GP's (I saw several) actual rang the hospital while I was there to discusse my issues and chaning the meds.
Do you have contact details for someone at the hospital (possibly a Heart Specialist Nurse) you can contact? You should be under (some sort of specialist, there's different ones I think) nurse for the cardiac reabilitation after the heart attached. Have you started that yet, or have a date? Or a follow up at the hospital?

I hesitate to say what I think I know (medically) about this matter. For a start, I also have a genetic condition which makes our cases different.
