I buy good quality artisan ice cream, I have a few good farm shops nearby.
However, I also eat Walls Cornish ice cream, and other decent quality supermarket ones.
If you are testing, you can always check and see what effect they have on you.
How can you tell that it’s real ice cream ??
I wouldn’t mind going on the hunt for real ice cream , I personally wouldn’t mind it as a treat every now and then ,
I will defiantly will be doing this and testing an see what triggers and what doesn’t .

It depends what you mean by real.
I go on no or maybe minimal artificial additives, and taste.

When it doesn’t taste like cardboard or something that taste like chemicals or anything like that .
I love the taste factor and I know it’s real flavour and not fake tasting .

That's the same as me
I’ve been a sucker for real gelato I miss eating it a lot and it tastes amazing . There was a place I used to visit where am but the place is like 12 hours away from me but haven’t found a place that served gelato like they did since . Im not even sure how to make gelato to be honest .

It would be far too expensive these days to make real icecream for sale, so it is a matter of making it yourself - which isn't difficult these days - my grandmother used to use freezing mixture - ice and salt - and wind it around by hand and I just switch on the machine.
After making the custard by warming the eggs, water and cream I then let it cool overnight in the fridge. It only needs to be slightly thickened, not set solid.
After not eating sweet things for some years I don't need to add sugar or sweetener but you can do crazy things such as blending a beetroot to use in pink icecream - it tastes sweet too, or put in salt and blended peas and it tastes of peanuts (the clue is in the name). Of course I use berries most often but low carb can be fun.

The main difference between ice cream as above, and gelato, is the cream content. Gelato uses milk, so it's lower calorie and lower fat, and has a lighter consistency. One of my local farms has a herd of jeresey cows, they make the ice from this, so it's more a gelato style. It's not especially cheap, but it is good.

Hello drummer , unfortnately this is what I have come to terms with unfortnately . That sounds Devine and I think I’ll have to give it a whirl , I’ll probably end up trying to make it myself an add berries and see how it goes . I honestly don’t want to miss out on a treat during summer every now and then .

Grom Gelato make real traditional gelato for sale. It’s all made in Turin I think.
It’s available through Waitrose and some other supermarkets. Real eggs, real cream, real fruit, no emulsifiers, no aromas. It’s also surprisingly low in carbs (for ice cream) with their vanilla coming in at 20% carbs I think.
It’s also delicious and has barely any impact on my BG levels.
It’s also utterly delicious 🙂

Well I went to my nurse and she’s extremely happy with my progress I’ve lost weight and around my waist my bmi as gone down to 27.6 still a fair way to go but I’m getting there . She’s happy with everything as she calls it I’m smashing it . She told the doctor about my progress as she does incase they want her to do something else but the doctor was over the moon with it all too . I see my doctor next Tuesday for my medication review and she will see the notes my specialist has put in and her confirming my type . She sent me another one of the glucose 2 hour bloods to see where my pancreas’s is at and my HBA1c aswell . After you drink it can you go to the toilet while they do the blood draw as last time I had to pee but kinda didn’t and is there any tips or tricks to do your fast glucose results ???? . But I don’t see her until 6 months . I have to go see a foot person aswell but that’s not until after I get out back down on my medication . How does this foot person check your feet ??? They are doing it on a care plan but how much do I need to pay for the rest ?
Thankyou

In Oz diabetes care, it depends on how much the individual professional bills. You get a Medicare subsidy for up to 5 "allied health" professional (like podiatrists, nutritionists etc etc) visits per year included in the Care Plan agreed with your doctor. If the professional bulk bills, that's it; otherwise, you have to pay the gap.
