Sorry to have heard your initial news and pleased that the second lot about the microwave seems so positive. Bummer about the wait though.

When it's all over you might have to change your handle to Pottersusan-ding! 😉

I really hope it gets sorted for you soon.

Spent yesterday poking people or trying to - out of 6 phone calls i spoke to one person. Everyone is on leave cos its half term!
However, in desperation, i emailed my surgeon and miraculously this morning theres a message saying i should hear about an 'urgent' appointment by the beginning of next week.
I must confess i was spitting bullets at lunch time yesterday. As you can imagine ive been avoiding making appointments for anything recently and put my business largely on hold because of impending treatment. They are causing me a lot of mental anguish (i have had a serious sense of humour breakdown over the weekend:() and costing me money.

I'm sorry to hear this, I can only imagine how frustrating, maddening and worrying it all is :( I hope that 'urgent' appointment comes through VERY early next week! {{{HUGS}}}

If it doesn't , I may be asking for prison visits, as murder will be top of my agenda😱

Hope you dont have to wait too much longer. If you need bail money Im sure as a forum we can all club together.

I think murdering everyone on the waiting list before you is a bit of a big job to ask us to do (cos I'm sure you'd have no trouble getting assistants LOL) really. How big was that microwave, Northie?

Ah - just seen Stitch's reply - that might be easier to do. You could always open a 'Just Giving' page ? 😉

Hope you get your treatment as quickly as possible once you've seen the consultant Susan.

Have just had a phone call from the letter dictator's secretary... She only typed the clinic letter yesterday (3 weeks after dictation!). Quite a coincidence that this was when I started poking people.. Am I cynical?

No pottersusan...not cynical at all...I would say perceptive...clearly someone somewhere was 'sitting on' your referral...well done for being persistent and getting things moving.

Still no letter with date, so rang them. Clinic and pre op assessment in mid November and procedure in early December... I won't believe it 'til I see it in writing🙄 I'm not holding my breath.
Given that I got the diagnosis on 1 Sept it'll be at least 14 weeks from diagnosis to treatment. They will have failed on their cancer treatment target of 11 weeks - though I don't know how this works when you are already in the system, as I am. I'm sure they'll find a way around the target.
Am I stressed? in a word...YES 😱😱😱

I'm not surprised you are stressed Susan, I think anyone would be in your situation :( As you say, you should already have been up high on their radar, so even worse that the target will have been missed :(

At least you have a better idea of when things will happen - I hope you get the letter confirming the dates in the next post!

Aye Susan, but that tumour has probably been slowly growing for two years, so you've no need to be worried, but you have every right to be angry. If you don't get that confirmation letter in the next couple of days (particularly as you have already phoned) keep pestering.

If it's any consolation, and I know it won't be, they clearly think it's not urgent medically. They never think about how people worry.

They don't send out the appointment letters 'so early'.

I know it's probably not growing very fast, but you can never be sure. Also if they don't get on with it, the tumour may not be within the parameters for ablation. The mental health of their patients is not considered at all.
