Libre rival? K'Track Glucose

This is a wearable device that like the Libre measures glucose in interstitial fluid. Just launched at the Consumer Electronics Show. The device itself is $150 and the 'sensors' are $100 (currently works out around £82) and last for 30 days. The company have developed devices for the sports market and the glucose one includes your standard fitbit type metrics.

I would imagine it would need to be strapped pretty tightly to your wrist. However, exciting times in tech. 🙂

I'm not wearing something like that on my wrist. Looks cheap and nasty. And people might mock what looks like a fitness monitor on a wheelchair user.

Whilst it does sound good, I'd never be able to wear it. When I go back to work, I have to be bare below the elbow (as does anyone working on wards) so a watch style gadget is not an option.

At least with the Libre I'll be able to put the reader in my tunic pocket and scan as and when.

It does appear quite bulky 😱 (my wrists are skinny) but on their website says it can be worn as an armband. It says they're hoping to launch in 2018. I presume others are developing products based on the success of the Libre.

Thanks for posting this Matt. It is good to see some competition for the Libre being developed. That along with being included in the NICE list could start to bring down prices.
