Are there any experienced libre users about who could lend a hand?

So, I received my first libre sensor at the end of last week. I was so excited to get it on! When putting it together it misfired before it touched my skin! Immediately had a bit of a wobble.

Is this a common problem? How do I stop this happening!? I can't have applied much pressure to it but it went off anyway!

Not sure how common it is (I've never done it). The two parts of the applicator look like they fit together any way round, but they don't: there's a critical notch in one part. I'm guessing you missed that? Anyway, if you ring Abbott there's a good chance they'll replace it (especially if I'm wrong and something different went wrong).

Thanks guys.

I always sit at a table to connect the 2 bits together as I dropped it once ! With clean hands pressing gently but firmly the 2 bits together then I check the needle bit clicked in With a gentle push as if there’s not enough pressure it doesn’t click in. It usually takes a fair press to apply it so sounds like something not quite right - Ring Abbott’s and explain they’re pretty good.

@Midnightcatpatrol - I'm sorry but I thought about you yesterday at the hospital getting my Libre and applying No 1 sensor. I remembered to line up the notch and the line OK but before I could get there I had one helluva job unscrewing the ruddy applicator to do it. Then I probably wasn't pressing hard enough cos I was applying it to (literally) flab rather than a firm part of my arm so the applicator wouldn't detach and the DSN had to shove it harder. Be easier next time since I'll be applying it with my dominant right hand.
