Good morning,
Im just wanting a bit of advice to be honest.
I have been using the libre sensor to monitor my blood levels for the last few years but 2 months ago was put on the libre 2 plus sensor. I physically cannot keep them on for more than 24 hours, which is obviously causing problems. I must excessively sweat could anyone please give me any suggestions of how to keep them on? I have tried talc and moving sites but nothing has worked.
Many thanks for your help.
Amy

I am not sure talc will help, even with over patches. The sensor may be sticking to the talc rather than your skin

Apologies if this advice is obvious or already known.
I see it as 3 stages - preparation, placement and protection.

Preparation
The area you attach the sensor to needs to be clean and dry. Wash with soap and water it non moisturizing shower gel. Dry thoroughly. There is at least one member who uses a hairdryer to ensure her arm is completely dry.
Some people use alcohol to ensure dryness. I am not a fan of the waste with the single use individually wrapped alcohol wipes. I have a bottle of surgical spirit that lasts for years and use a tissue or dry flannel.

Placement
Placement the sensor on a flat part of your upper arm. An area that does not bend or flex.
For me, the most common reason for a sensor to come off is because it starts to peel when I flex my arm.

Protection
Some people don't need any sensor protection.
Some use the over patches but these can be a little hit or miss on quality so check the reviews.
Or you could use a strap to hold it in place. You can get an elastic strap with a 3d printed cover for the sensor. I think @rebrascora uses one of these.
It is said that the glue can take up to 24 hours to "set" so avoid getting it wet in this time.

Good luck.

Try using Dexcom's One+ instead of Libre 2+. It's the same cost to the NHS, so fully interchangeable hence prescribing change is easy. This is totally in the script writing gift of a GP or the Surgery's in-house Pharmacist; no longer an admin hassle needing a Consultant's authorisation. Perhaps a different adhesive will suit your skin.

You will need to check your phone is compatible; if the app installs that is normally sufficient as a check.

Talc is not recommended. You should just be cleaning your arm with soap / shower gel and water and not adding anything else to it - no moisturisers, no talc, no moisturising shower gel, just a clean arm. You can use alcohol under the sensor to see if that helps, or skin tac which is extra sticky for underneath, or a sticker or arm band over the top.

Mine failed with "replace sensor" error message this morning at 4am - it is on day 14 of 15 - reported to Abbott using the online form and they are sending me a replacement - when it is very warm I do use a patch (the "Not Just a Patch" ones that look like an ink splat and they always do the job fine)

Think mine is made of superglue. Always have a fight to get it off!
