also, anyone know how I tell the app the sensor failed so it stops low glucose alarming whilst its in the bin?
I use a reader, and you can switch off the alarms on that, I’d have thought it would be possible to switch the alarms off on the app if you’re using a phone, but I wouldn’t know how. Have you tried scanning the sensor in the bin? It might give you a 'sensor failed' message and shut itself up.
Oh, and you ought to keep the sensor til you’ve spoken to Abbott, sometimes they want failed ones back, so they can investigate what went wrong.

It is probably best to apply a new sensor at night so that it has time for the adhesive to form a good bond to the skin before it is exposed to environmental challenges like sweaty conditions and hot showers. I use an arm strap to support it now and find that makes it much less vulnerable to loss due to knocking or adhesion issues, particularly in a hot shower, which was when I had a couple of losses.

This is the sort of thing i use....

Yeah think I learned my lesson this time. Have been swimming and all sorts with them on before and never had a problem. Think I will apply before bed in future and leave it overnight.

One final question - when I get a replacement tomorrow - do I just fit and scan it and the app will pair to the new and forget the old?

I took the bin bag to the main bin so its out of range from my phone and turned off the signal loss alarm- did the trick
