Libre 2 Plus

My phone often tells me that I am out of range of my Libre 2 Plus. Quite often it is in my pocket or at night on my bedside cupboard. This can be four or more times in a 24 hour period. Would this be my phone or the Libre software needing updating?

Most of us simply switch off the "out of range" alarm and don't worry about why the alarm activates when it is clearly within range. I suspect something interferes with the Blue tooth connection and causes it to drop out occasionally.

Bluetooth can be a bit flaky as a technology, even more so when its transmitter/aerial in the Libre sensor is so tiny.
For example, I often get a disconnection when my sensor is currently on my left arm, and my phone is in my right-hand trouser pocket! As always, @rebrascora gives excellent advice.

PS. Do ask if you need help with how to turn the "signal loss" alarm off.

Hospital told me to switch off, first night alarm went off 4 times and was on bedside table

The last three sensors have frequently given loss of data alarms when my phone is in my pocket. Either my phone or the current sensors have a Bluetooth problem?

I found the Libre 2's I used constantly 'dropped out' and needed the sensor scanning.
That's why I switched to the Dexcom 1+. It rarely loses signal, even when I leave it downstairs at night. And if it does go out of range, can catchup on its own without scanning or resetting.
PS: I'm not a salesman for Dexcom

I use Dexcom, but it’s the Bluetooth that causes the problems I think, not the device. When I am in the garden for instance, (permanent job deadheading petunias at the moment ) I have the phone in my back jeans pocket and my Dexcom on my abdomen. It frequently loses signal, and after a bit of research, it seems that your own body can block the Bluetooth connection. As said above though, it will catch up when I move the phone so they can “see” each other!
