I am on my 5th sensor I have checked my fingerprint blood many times and the sensor is always 10 to 15 points lower than my blood test And more if readings are higher

I'm guessing you're using US measurements? All the measurements are within some range. Test strips are (roughly) within 15% of the lab result (and a bit better within the normal range). Libre is a bit less accurate. Still good enough to be useful for most of us.

Your 10-15 is (I think) less than 1mmol/L which I'd regard as fine. I wouldn't be astonished if I did test strips with two different machines and got a similar difference. (Or different fingers with the same machine, for that matter.)

Hi and welcome.

Goodness your BG levels must be high if Libre is reading 10-15mmols lower or do you mean 1.0-1.5mmols lower (ie 10-15 decimal places lower) than finger prick readings which is about normal for Libre for me and perfectly workable. Can you give us some examples?

Ah! I see that perhaps @Bruce Stephens has solved the confusion whilst I was typing my post above.
Are you using mg/dl or mmols/litre as your units?

Been using libre 2 for couple of years, find its very accurate compared to bg levels, even at low high levels, so much better than libre 1.

Had very few issues with it, great device looking forward to 3 version.

Bigamus is indeed posting from the US and so it is highly likely that there is a confusion over units. 10-15 mg/dl is around 1mmol/l and such variability is well within what might be expected.

Welcome to the forum @bigmous

Sorry to hear you’ve been disappointed with the performance of your Libre sensors.

Standard advice in the UK where sensors don’t seem to be performing as expected is to contact Abbott’s helpline and they will be able to troubleshoot the sensor, check your insertion, and in the UK they will replace any sensor which is not performing as they would expect.

Of course, as you probably know, sensor glucose and blood glucose are two different things, and while they are related, they are unlikely to match exactly - and they will change at different rates and times.

Keeping well hydrated can help, as it helps the interstitial fluid keep up with changes in BG levels 🙂
