Hi all, have any of you people who use the above pens been having problems when you are injecting? When i test it through the needle it's fine but as soon as it goes into the skin the plunger just doesn't seem to want to press down and it takes all my strength to do it. This never happens with my Novorapid pens though!!

Strange but true

Yep had the same problem my self night before last but has been ok since although i have to add a bit more pressure, mine is the levemir pen.

I have found the same problem with my novorapid pens, my levemir is the pen refill type.

I can confirm i have had issues with my levemir flexpen, which is strange as the novorapid pen is identical, but no problems there.......

I can still successfully inject, its just the plunger doesn't feel right some times.......

Try another if your not confident its doing the job.....:D

Yes I have the same problem with the levemir and not with the novorapid.I thought it was my pen that was faulty but obviously not.

Check your needle.

I have had cases where the air shot seems to work but the plunger seems to jam. When I had taken the needle off - I could see that the needle was defective and not piercing the rubber bung properly.

Have had that problem several times, don't use any other (except my Victoza) insulin so can't say what it is. Once it was because I'd bent the needle, I had just assumed it was hitting something solid and pressed real hard.

Hi I have the preloaded pens and they seem to stick alot,it might deliver 5 units then stick, so I just keep pressing. Sheena

Yep, I had the same problem. I press hard on the plunger to get it to go down and wait about 10 seconds before taking in out but then some insulin shoots out the needle! I had assumed it was because I was injecting into a spot which is a bit hard, the insulin can't get in to my body so the pressure builds up, then when I take it out the insulin shoots out all over the floor! Its so annoying because I can't tell how much insulin I have actually had and how much ended up on the carpet! Is this what others have noticed?

No, I do mine in the kitchen and I haven't noticed the insulin shooting out, but then again I am normally tired when I do it, night time. Sheena

Levemir pens

Hi all, further to recent conversations on here i have decided to e-mail Novo Nordisk and tell them of the problems i, and some of you people are having with the above pens.

As soon as i receive a reply i'll let you know what they say!!
