Hi everybody just tested my levels few hours after evening meal before tea they was 4.7 now 2 hours after tea they was at 4.1 why is the reason they drop like this wouldn’t say I’ve done a high amount of activity today either

I suspect it is the fat in the meal slowing the carbs down. At 2 hours, assuming you dosed up front for a high carb load, the insulin will be working strongly while the food is slow to get going. You may well find you rise higher and higher much later on as the insulin will have finished, but a large meal (especially with fat in) can feed carbs into your system for many hours.

Hope you don’t get too much of a rise overnight.

Might be worth setting an alarm and checking at 2-3am?

I think when Mike's predictive text said 'day' - he meant 'fat' ! LOL

Oops! Thanks TW, yes it’s the fat that can slow down carb absorption. I’ve edited the post now.
