Well, what I am thinking now is we should just tell the truth and shame the devil. We can take it, we're not snowflakes!

Having just read Drummers post I now feel pretty stupid and this will pull me up for a little while, make me realise how stupid I'm being.

Oh dear - I never intended to do that - I was just explaining me being what even I have to admit is a bit keen -

I think one of the most important things to remember is that we can only share our own experiences, and what works for us.

There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ ways to balance diabetes management with quality of life and that balance will be very different for everyone. Not only that but the strategies and tactics that work well for one person may not work, or even be necessary, for another. Diabetes is fickle and contrary. And each of us has to find our own way between the effort we are able to devote to diabetes at any point in our lives, the results we are happy with, our own happiness and state of mind, and our future health.

That balance is unique to ever person. And no one should ever be made to feel bad for trying to work things out in their own way.

For my money, it’s much better to say something supportive and encouraging - pointing people in the right direction - than to try to convince anyone that your own way is the right way and that they are ‘doing it wrong’.
