Leg Aches

Recently my upper legs have been aching, always on the upper thighs and sometimes they feel a little weak when walking for the initial phase - or more often when I get up from my desk to have a little walk. They are not weak because if I do decide to go for a walk - once I get into my stride I can happily carry on for 20 or 30 minutes.

Wasn't sure if this was the result of being on a weight loss diet for the past few months. My legs don't exactly have a lot of fat on them (the other day I was thinking they were starting to look just a tad skinny).

The thing that concerns me is, have I got to the point in weight loss where I can get to a bit of muscle wastage due to not consuming enough calories?
Or is this just my legs feeling a bit abused?

Are you at or near the ideal weight for your height? If so, it could be your body telling you it doesn't want to loose any more weight.

I find first thing in the morning my legs feel weak and get better during the day. I need my muscles to warm up before I can consider any kind of exercise.

If there is no obvious reason for the aches and you are worried, there is no harm in seeking medical advice.

I'm at BMI 23 - so I am getting fairly close to the ideal weight.

Congratulations, well done you and... It may be time to switch to some kind of maintenance diet so you don't lose any more.

Is it just during the hot weather your legs are affected? Is it possible you can sit with your legs up at any point during the day? It might help. I know it might be a bit difficult if you are at work all day.

In another thread a while ago someone mentioned shoes and that their legs hurt when they needed new shoes. What sort of condition are your shoes in, do you need new ones?
