Cheers,

Having been out at my local amateur radio club this evening, I have noticed (when I got in) that I have a significant amount of blood at the top of my vision in my left eye, meaning it is on the bottom of the eye (the lens of the eye flips and rotates what it sees, the brain puts it the right way around again) I will tell the hospital this tomorrow, as well as the fact that my eye has become bloodshot during today as see what they say, hopefully it will be nothing, but I want to be sure.
I am petrified of tomorrow, but I know the surgeon now (one from yesterday) so know he can do the right job, it's just the needle part that I'm dreading (still)

This time tomorrow it will all be over (I hope) and my life can get back to normal.

Will be taking my eye patch with me tomorrow, they've forcast snow and the double vision after the op is a bit nausea inducing :D

Hi Garthion - just sending a bit of support for tomorrow.
At least by this time tomorrow it will be over - hopefully for a very long time.
You are very brave and thanks for sharing with us your ordeal

Good luck for tomorrow

Well, today was a waste of time, all that was done was a cursory look at my eyes by the consultant who hadn't even known that I would be there. The final part of lasering in my right eye is in 4 weeks time. Ah well, more to look forwards to :(

At work tomorrow and Sunday so I'll see how my left eye copes :D not too bad today and the blood has dispersed from yesterday so...

I can have a couple of worry free weeks now though so that's good :D

AND I get off of doing hevy lifting at work, even better 😉

Hi Garthion... sounds like you've been through the mill! I've got the theatre laser (laser of doom, lol!) on the 24th....soooooo not looking forward to it! Didn't help that I was daft enough to ask lots of questions about what would happen, to be told they'd put local anesthetic drops in then inject a local anesthetic into the eyelid using a blunt (yes, I checked, he did saw blunt! 😱) cannula (why share that detail with me?!!). I've got a pre op on the 13th, & have been given instructions not to take my 'diabetic' medication on the morning of the 24th - so I'll have to check what they mean by that, as as far as I;m concerned, the pump stays on! 😡 Glad to see you 've discovered the beauty of eye patches too = they are a life saver aren't they?! I've had to wear one at work ince hte last bleed (pre Christmas) as the screens (widescreen monitor, even turned the brightness down as far as poss) & the fluourescent lights induce massive headaches with a bleed. Bizarrely someone managed to find (of all things!) a blow up parrot in their desk within the first half an hour! :D Engineers... 🙄

Anyway, what I wanted to post about was what bleeds look like - apparently (when I asked the doc) a fresh bleed looks like a shower of spots, which then dissipate, turning the vision kind of blurred & 'oily'. When there's quite abit of blood it can look (as mine does at the mo, grr) like black blobs with streaks, which whirl & swirl as you move your eye, quite dizzyfying! (as it were...). I'm not sure if this is old blood though (the doc has previously described seeing a pool of blood between the back of the eye & the jelly, hwich he said was leeching in causing this effect).

The last time I had lasering (the normal sitting up laser) I had 1131 zaps, and my eye was a bit blood shot afterwards. I also notice I do tend to get bleeds after eye appts (& before!!) but not sure if htis is down to the eye drops, the lasering itself or stress (which I was told to avoid...to which I was seriously tempted to reply have you met my in-laws/kids hehe!).

Anyway, hope you're on the mend & the eyes are settling down - for what it's worth, my right eye is looking really good, so it CAN be stabilised, once they hit the right areas (as it were) & if you maintain good control. Hang on in there chook.

All the best,

Twitchy x

Twitchy and Dale I hope that the rest of the eye treatment goes smoothly for you lots of hugs
