Hi'

How often do you change the lancets in your lancing device?

Embarrassingly........................when it starts to hurt or I struggle to draw blood...........😱

What about you.......?

Only about once a month.

Unless I need to test someone else, of course - they get a new lancet and I remove it after use.

Used to be once in a blue moon (I understand that traditionally for long termers it's an annual rite on St Swithin's Day 😉 ).

Probably once every 6-8 weeks now.

Very rarely!....when I struggle to get blood out of my finger! 😱

Use the accu chek multiclix and turn the dial for a fresh needle every morning, if I'm out and about and didn't wash my hands before testing then I'll change the needle immediately after.

Hmm..I can't remember the last time, although I do have a multiclix which has 6 lancets in a barrel so I tend to froget when I've moved onto the next one. Probably use each one for about a month. 😱

when i can be bothered and or it starts to hurt

Breakfast, Dinner/Tea and bedtime every time, but I doubt she changes the Lunch one at school every time, probably once a week. At night, when I try to test her, I don't always succeed the first time, I don't change it.

Was told to change mine every time when first diagnosed, soon got fed up with that, I now let one lancet last one day.

😱 probably just when I get a new kit!! oops!

really must do better! but glad to hear I'm not the only one! if it starts really hurting, they get changed....but can't remember the last time this actually happened!

I told my practise nurse I was only changing once per week to save the NHS money and I got a lecture that I was being silly and I should change with every test 😱

Usually my first morning test gets a new one and obviously when testing anybody else.

Do folk find they test others on a regular basis..............?

I have done my son a few times when hes not well, but that's it.........

I have had many test requests from workmates and family who are either concerned (maybe thirsty alot) or just curious. I think it's probably 2 a week.

Yes, I've tested myself a few times (I am overweight and sit at the PC all day instead of doing housework/exercise😱). I usually test 2 hrs after breakfast.
I have tried to test Fiona when she was being a "pain in the ....."
OH was worried once, because he was thirsty all the time and of course with the drinking, needing a wee a lot. He chickend out, but I gave him a ketostick and a diastick and told him to wee on them. They came back clear.

I assume this is your own meter though as opposed to one of Carols, no?

What is your 2hr result?

Yes, I use Carol's old OneTouch Ultra Easy, which doesn't have the download ability
