I need to buy some new lancets for my Accu-Check Nano but am unsure which type to buy - multiclix or softclix? Or does it make any difference?

Just bought some strips for ?10.50 (p&p included) but then realised I should probably change my lancet a little more....😱

Many thanks, Amanda

I think the softclix ones are smaller so won't fit in a multiclix finger pricker.

Looking around it seems your Nano may come with the Multiclix finger pricker, but have a look on the box and see what type you have.

Mine is a Fastclix, and they are different to the Multiclix.

I don't have the box anymore but have had a look on the Accu-Check website and it is a fastclix finger pricker - then have found out Boots are selling a box of 24 for ?4.59. Seem's a trip to Boots is necessary tomorrow... how is your testing/diet going....🙂

Slowing down on the testing, as I was getting through a box every 2 weeks. But a bit nervous not testing sometimes.

Diets going well Amanda, and now down to 13st 7lbs from 15st, so pleased with that.

Have my 3 month review next month, my fastings of a morning are down from 7's to 5.5's with a few blips, so thats good too.

Your doing well, and that was a good price on the strips. Have you seen the guy selling a dozen boxes in one go:D

Your weight loss is fantastic news; buying the strips is very expensive; I go through a box of 50 per month and even then I sometimes buy a box of 10 - at the moment I'm only testing when I try new food; some of the meals I have I have already tested and modified and they are ok for me. I don't do the waking-up because my strips are very low at the moment. I test immediately before; 1hr after and 2hrs after a new meal... I do have problems with finger pricking..I either can't get enough blood or bruise my fingers..

I've seen the dozen box sales but couldn't afford it in one go; the one's I bought today (?10) were surplus (he stated he had a surplus supply so selling.. he had about 6 boxes for sale.:().

Have you had your first HbA1c test done yet? I have my 2nd in December - really hoping I can lower it, like yourself I've lost over 2 stone and only have to lose 8lb to get to my ideal weight...I do need to increase my physical activity though...difficult when the dark and cold nights come in....

Yes, my first HbA1c was 8.1, hoping to lower that, at next months one. My physical exercise is very poor, but not much I can do about that.

Keep up the good work Amanda, we'll get there🙂

Definately...good luck...take care. Amanda x 🙂

If you look on the pricker it should tell you which one it is..

Mines is a multi-click, I know this one came with my pump meter, but it's identical to the one I recieved with my Nano meter..

Take the top/cap bit off and look at the innards. If its a multiclix it will have a barrel-like cartridge attachment (don't pull this out as it cannot be refitted). Softclix has a single/visible lancet (you can see the sharp pointy end).
