One of the biggest changes in my life when I was diagnosed with diabetes was needing to carry a handbag. I still prefer to leave the house with the minimum of stuff - house key, phone, wallet (or just a credit card but rarely cash) and hypo treatment. Obviously, if I am driving or out for longer than a couple of hours, I also need the full diabetes paraphernalia - test strips, lancet, meter, insulin, syringe, spare pump patch. If it's raining (or rain is forecast), I take a brolly (so need a bigger bag), if it's hayfever season, I take some hankies, if it's sunny, I take my sunglasses, if I may need to read, I take my glasses.
Because, I pack a bag (or pockets) as needed, I don't have a handbag full of things that I might need.

Too much.....sometimes it feels like it weighs a ton 😱. I love the idea of a smaller bag but there is not enough room for my purse, phone, ear buds, keys, 3 pairs of glasses (reading, driving and sun) comb, lip balm, tissues, specs cleaner, small notebook, pen. Spare meds for hubby in case we are late home. JBs and snack bar (just in case) and other various paraphernalia. Hubby asks 'can you just put this in your bag please?'

I would give Mary Poppins serious competition.

At the moment purse, blood testing kit, keys, pens, mirror, hand cream, book, notebook and tissues. Not very exciting. Work bag is a different story!

My kindle and a bag of sunflower seeds for the maggies.

So many things!

Apart from the obvious I have
Alcohol hand gel
Nail clippers
Hair elastics
Pencil and notepad
Emergency salami

Every time I'm out and think "I wish I had x" I add it to the bag when I get home!

Ah - well - a descant and sopranino recorder, morris sticks with bells on, two handkerchiefs, a boran beater, tiny bag with cards, I.D. money and phone, Factor 50 sunscreen fingerless mitts hairbrush scissors pen and pencil, keys to the hall where we practice morris dancing, campervan keys, keys to daughter's house and ours, car keys, ipad, several torches and often some knitting or crochet.

Funny posts, especially emergency salami. :D

I've got bunch keys in one bit and bus pass in the other bit and in the main bit gloves, can't bear being cold and in the other larger bit my purse. Side bit contains any meds I have ie Paracetamol, chest spray, senna, anything spare. In the old days I'd carry lots of spare meds, in case peoples needed them, even had morphine at one point, but it's difficult to get stuff now. 🙂

Nothing for Type 2, I ignore it for the most part, no wonder I'm crook! :(

Purse, keys, phone, glucose tabs, finger pricking kit, paracetamol, small mirror, lip balm, pen, Bluetooth earbuds, dog poo bags.

If I am just walking the dog less than an hour or so then just my pockets.

Phone.
Pump device.
Sweets
Poop bags
Key

Longer walk, then bum bag:
The above plus
Raisins or small snack
Lip balm
Maybe purse

If going out I have a backpack and stay img near home (within 2 hours) and all of the above plus more snacks, bottle of water, hand cream.

Only if going out for longer or further do I take spare blood tester, back up pod and insulin.

OMG Im surprized some of us dont carry suitcases with us lol

Mine has house keys, a radar key (those things are annoyingly big), car fob, 2 metal tubes that each have a day’s worth of my meds in, nail clippers, lip balm, lipstick, lipliner, trolley coin, bank card, any cash I have. Access card, eye drops. Masks as I still mask in some situations so I usually have a current one and a spare or two. Snacks, ibuprofen gel, a little tin of hand balm. Plasters. Tissues. Glasses wipes. A roll up shopping bag. A hand fan. A bag of sweets. If I’m out for the day or on a train then I have a pouch with headphones and an external battery as my phone is old. I also have a pouch for my tens machine for if I’m taking that with me. That also has some strips of kinesiology tape in that pouch. I can squeeze a paperback in but then not do the zip up.

Thankfully teen carries his own diabetes kit if he’s out with me so I don’t need a massive bag any more.

Tissues. Usually one open pack and a couple unopened. Random tablets like ibuprofen and paracetamol plus Imodium or similar. Hand wash. Wet wipes. Phone charging cable. Powerbank. Lip balm. Hand cream. Factor 50. Ricola sugar free sweets. Kindle. AirPods. One contact lens. One key to something clearly important but I’ve no idea what.

I no longer care what is in my pockets, camera bag or rucksack. Ever since the stoma was reversed and I no longer needed to carry stoma supplies, carrying anything but them is a great relief. My wife still carries the radar key in her handbag, "just in case".

I remember when I went over to a pump I thought that I could make use of the smaller bags again. Wrong.
Within 1 hour from home:
Diary pen and pencil, Keys, lip balm, JBs, test kit, purse, phone and earbuds, spec cleaning cloth and small tweezers.
More than 1 hour from home:
Add in: spare infusion set and insulin and a snack.
