Ketones!

Just be careful of exercising if there are significant ketones present - you probably already know this but it makes things worse.

Are you on a split dose of your basal? If not that might help as it could be tailored to avoid the night hypo's yet giving you enough for the day time.

Thanks Flutterby, yes I haven't had any major ketones today luckily and my sugar was 9.4 before my walk and 5.8 after so all good so far, apart from this morning's sugars.

No, I'm on a daily dose of lantus/glargine in the morning but seeing my DSN on Fri and she mentioned going to levemir split dose, must admit I don't like the idea of ANOTHER injection but something has to change as I've had enough of this!

Let's hope that's it for ketones now, I will not be happy if they're back tomorrow :(

Well all the best with your appointment. I'm lucky as I don't mind how many injections I do but I think that it would certainly be worth a try for you if it makes life better. And well done for all the effort you've put in with trying to get it right - it's totally exhausting I know.
