Karate Gi rips off sensor

Hi,

So 1st training session back last night and my heavy weight Gi ripped my sensor off. Has anyone here got experience in martial arts facing this issue or any other sport where there are fast arm movements that could catch the sensor on clothing?
I’ve bought this to try:

I used a type one style patch plus a thin sticky patch over that and also skin tac for the application.
I think the sensor was too close to the arm seem so I’ll look to position it a bit further away but body movements are pretty dynamic in this sport and I can’t replace a sensor twice a week. I’m now not using a sensor for 24hrs as I have another session tonight. So flying solo and only diagnosed last month which will be interesting.

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated,
I think a band is a good idea, like if someone had a healing injury or scar and wanted people to avoid that particular area. I know it’s a nuisance but even if a holder held the Libre on, it might be pushed or twisted in situ messing up its operation or accuracy.
Hi Mitchsi, I became a diabetic type 3c, about 3 weeks ago and now on injections of insulin twice daily. I wonder if you use the Libre device on your upper arm, while practicing karate? I Is that a problem or it is it perfectly ok for kumite and kata training? I'm a yellow belt at the moment, going for my next grading to get my green belt at the end of next month.
All the best to you.

Hi @Busdriver60 I did intend to update this with what I learnt and I will do that. I’m a 2nd Dan instructor with 32yrs experience. I lost a few sensors due to a heavy weight Gi.
I now use skin tac which generally is a good idea, a patch which I recently changed to but will update here with the type, for heavy karate training I use physio tape on skin with a bandage patch. It hurts to remove due to hairs on my arm but it protects my libre2.
The skin tac really helps tho.
I’ll come back with the details like I planned.
Don’t stop your training cause it really helps with your control and your mentality of controlling your health.
Good luck on your belt journey

Btw kata is ok, it’s the line work at 100% where I lost sensors and the Kumite/oyo were fine.
I informed my club, my phone is visible with alarms although I do go out of range but my club has to be tolerant of that.
