Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi.
I am a bald, fat ageing hippy from the north west. T2, stents in the heart, nasal Cpap in bed and apart from that I am a fit as a fiddle 70 year old.

Cardiac stent were fitted between 7 and 5 years ago on three seperate occasion in the cardiac catheter theater.

The Cpap, or better known as the 'Continuous Positive Pressure' support for sleep apneoa suffers. Had that now for 16 years.

the Type 2, well I believe I have had it all my life undiagosed <sigh>... It became apparent when I eldest daughter became life threatened with bone marrow failure. I spent most of my time at her bedside then ate food takeaway for weeks on end, maybe months, untill one night I felt so dreadfully ill I went to the hospital, voila T2 diabetes diagnosed bout 10 years now...

I think there is some suspicion that Sleep Apneoa, tYPE 2 and heart conditions often come as a package deal, well, it has for me....:confused::confused:

Hi asathorny welcome to the forum, sorry you are having so many health problems, very friendly lot on here.

Welcome Asathorney

Sleep apnoea and type 2 diabetes are both associated with being overweight. Please note, I didn't say that being overweight causes type 2 diabetes - being associated means they happen together.

The good news is that tackling your diet, activity levels and weight may well have beneficial effects not just on your blood glucose levels, but also your sleep apnoea and heart problems.

Welcome to the forum asathorny 🙂
