when i had my last check up at the opticians which was in april id say, they told me there was signs of background retinopathy however no one said or did anything about it. im due for a check up at the docs with a hba1c needed to be done.
hope they actually do something for me instead of just giving me the same advice each time or in the case of retinopathy none.

A lot of us are told we have background retinopathy Estella - thankfully, there is nothing to worry about just a prompt to make sure we look after our levels well 🙂

know what ive also just realised, its been two years since ive joined the forum!

add another 10 days lol

Don't you have your eyes checked out at your diabetes clinic in addition to an opticians?

i don't go to a clinic, i just see the nurse at my doctors 🙂

Oh I see, so do you get your feet checked and all that too?

That's what i do. I see the practice nurse but she specialises in other things such as diabetes care too. I go to a seperate opticians of my choice when the letter comes through but it obviously has to be one which does the special diabetic tests. My feet are checked at another clinic. This is what our area does. In my old area I had everything done at the hospital.

my nurse does everything at the doctors surgery, i use to go to the hospital but cause i have such good control of my diabetes they decided to discharge me.
