Hello - I was just diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on Friday and have just left hospital. Think Im still in shock with the whole thing. Went to the doctors as I wasnt feeling to good and turns out I had a blood sugar level of over 27.8 (I think that is the highest their meter went to) and befor I knew it I was in hospital hooked up to various drips.
Im 33 but feel a bit stupid cause I didnt (until this weekend) know anything about the condition (noone in the family has it or friends) and am worried Im going to do something wrong now Im home.
In hospital I only met some older ladies who had type 2 diabetes but would like to be able to talk to people sort of my age who are living with it. Any advise would be great - ta
