Type 2 was put on novo mix 30 due to oral steriod use, been on about six weeks.steroids finished 4 weeks ago but am experiencing strong muscle and joint pains.Cannot sleep due to this any advice would be welcome.

Welcome to the forum Sue1954. What were your steroids treating? If something joint related, then stopping might account for pain.
If pain is keeping you awake, then you should see your GP. No point suffering.

Are you on any other medications Sue? - statins are notorious for causing joint pain. But anyway - it's unheard of for this to happen with insulin, so you absolutely need to see your GP asap !

The steroids were for a severe skin condition. I have been on statins for about 10 years without problems I am seeing my doc Friday so will see what she says. Thanks for the answers.
