My son has type 1 diabetes he has just qualified as a life guard but not sure if he will be able to get a job due to his diabetes? any help

I don't see why not, there are very few jobs that people with diabetes are prevented from doing.
The DDA is there to protect on these sort of issues, if you son is in good control of his diabetes and will take measures to protect himself then I'm sure he will be a great lifeguard and would encourage him to start applying for jobs.

For a specific question like job restrictions (or none) for life guards with type 1 diabetes, I'd ask the body who awarded his qualification. It's several decades since I did my RLSS life saving qualifications, and never worked as a life guard, but the skills did come back when I was involved in several rescues from the sea.

It is always best to check jobs for restrictions, although ther should be no problems.

If it is any consolation my grown up son when he made enquries could not be a train driver because he has problems with his colour vision and he could not be a fire fighter because he needs glasses all the time to see.
