Hi all ,
I am new here & am planning to join you in Bristol this Saturday (train permitting!)
I will attempt to be smell-less. Any other house rules I should know of?
ISCA
That's wonderful you are coming! Where do you live and when were you diagnosed?
No house rules at all, looking forward to meeting you. It's my first meeting too!

I too will come scentless. It is a small group and I am very much looking forward to meeting whoever can make it. See you at about 11:00, traffic permitting as I am travelling by the Falcon Bus.

Will be great to meet you! Fingers crossed the trains work out OK.

I am happy to remain entirely unwashed if it helps :D (not an aftershave user myself)

No need to go that far, Mike :D
I am allergic to pretty much everything (in terms of toiletries, cleaning products etc) so everyone will seem scented to me whatever they do - and anyone who's been on a train or a bus or in a public loo or anywhere else is going to be scented no matter what they do - but I can cope with most things for a short while, just not the really strong scents, which are mostly perfume, aftershave, and anything which comes in a spray. Oh, and smoke - no-one coming is a smoker, are they? - if so I'd want to make sure I sit the other end of the table from them!

Thanks everyone who's said they'll avoid strongly scented stuff, or re-iterated it, I really appreciate it 🙂 I will have a think, it would be quite a big effort for me to get there, not just because of the scent, but the time of day, the distance, and any noise there might be - but it would be lovely to meet up with some people if I could because I normally don't see anyone socially at all. I'll have to look up where it is and what parking there is - R said he will bring me if I think I can do it. But even if I say I'll try to get there, there's no guarantee I'll wake up on the day well enough to, so please don't make any big efforts on my behalf!

Btw, welcome @ISCA - if you haven't already done so by now, please start a thread on the newbies board and tell us a bit about yourself 🙂

Fingers crossed you are able to make it @TheClockworkDodo - but of course we completely understand if you are not able to at the last minute.

Yurt Lush is immediately next to the railway station, under a stone archway

Thanks, Mike.
I was going to try, especially in view of Eggyg's post about siezing the day on the thread about Copepod, which was very much what I was feeling too - but I've now had a look at Yurt Lush's website and at google maps, and sadly I will not be able to get there. It looks like it does serve alcohol, which would make it impossible for me anyway, and I think the location will be very noisy for me, and it would take quite a bit longer to get there than I'd thought as well. Unfortunately part of having ME is having to know what I can and can't do, and I think I was being a bit too hopeful when I originally said I might be able to go - I should have checked venue and map first.
So thanks again everyone for being willing to make the effort not to be too scented for me, but I definitely won't be there so there is no need.
Maybe another time, if there's a meet up in the Cotswolds somewhere quieter which definitely doesn't serve alcohol I might be able to do it.

Thanks, Mike.

Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it Julia, but you know yourself better than any of us ever could. Perhaps if there are members more local to you, another meet up could be arranged at another time so that it would more closely match what you would be comfortable with 🙂 My experience has always been that nothing beats meeting up with these lovely people, so I hope the opportunity arises for you too 🙂

Thanks, Mike.

Thanks for letting us know, and sorry that you are not giong to make it.
Another time at a more appropriate venue.
Take care

You will be missed Juliet, but we completely understand. Hope to meet you one day somewhere easier for you.

Just got my train ticket! So all being well I'll be there by 11.45.

Enjoy your meet up tomorrow

Thanks Bloden! Looking forward to it.

Will be good to meet some new faces 🙂

I'm looking forward to it and putting more faces to names.

Very much looking forward to the meet up tomorrow.
Just looked at trains and times are much better than bus and not a lot more pricewise.
