Did anyone watch it last night? very interesting how diabetes kept cropping up and those people who were affected by diabetes especially that chap who used to be an athlete and is now in a wheelchair due to complications but he did admit that he did not control as he was young and just carried on as normal but now regrets it, i think it just hits home how dangerous D can be if you choose to ignore it :(

Yes, I watched it. In all these programmes Type 2 diabetes always crops up these days, and something I have noticed is that it is generally people who do not appear to have been able to tackle the problem and manage their diabetes well, lose weight and become healthier. I guess they pick people for the greatest impact in order to scare the kids into getting healthy before it happens to them.

If scaring them like that works, don't knock it! Wish we could sort the GMNT like this...

Yes, I can see that, but it always seems to be that message, that there's no way back. For those kids whose parents/siblings have T2 already, it might be nice once in a while to see how healthy eating/living can turn it around then they might be motivated to carry the message home rather than feeling their relatives are beyond hope, as well as reducing their own risks of getting it. 🙂

Difficult to scare a GMNT, although if he's starting to get interested in girls you might want to explain the risks and of poor circulation if diabetes is not managed well...😱
