What software is it Dory, if anyone on here has the same pump they may have the software already and be using it.

Or did you get it anyway?

oh yeah i never thought of that! Thanks TW!

It's the Accu-chek 360 software from Roche, for the Accu-chek spirit combo pump. I'd need a walkthrough of how to install it and work all the components, if anyone can help....?!?! 🙂

Hi Dory,

Have you tried contacting Roche? We use Medtronic but find pump companies really helpful and am sure will help you work it out.🙂Bev

Thanks Bev - i could go through Roche but I want to be able to link up with my DSN as she will know what I'm then doing (Roche might be able to theoretically get it working, but the actual 'working it around me' bit presumably will be better off with the DSN). but a good option to at least getting the software up and running!

Interesting to read all the comments. Very disappointing to see that story in the Metro yesterday. The same press release was sent to all news outlets and no one else's story took the same route as the Metro's.

They have printed a correction on page 2 of their paper today (although the letters they've printed criticise the original, incorrect story).

We spoke to the Metro early yesterday to demand a correction and for them to change the online version of the story, which they agreed to. It was helpful to direct them to tweets and comments from Facebook to show them people's feelings as to the error - and great to see others emailed their concerns too. This all will have helped.

Errr, well, it's the software I use with my Spirit Combo and it's pretty straightforward really - must be cos I set mine up meself and I'm no whizz kid with technology I can assure you - I couldn't even text until 12 months ago! although I have been emailing and using a puter clerically for yonks.

It's mainly setting your parameters for at what level you want the BG result to appear in red (hypo) or bold black (hyper) and the limits on where you WANT your BG to be 'most of the time' - so not much different really to what you have set on your combo meter. Honestly.

And their software helpline is hilarious, you leave a message and someone rings you back. Very helpful indeed but total lack of sense of humour. I've spoken to Styg twice since getting it; he speaks with a 'hurdy gurdy' accent, do you remember the Swedish chef on the Muppets?

oh great TW! What I might do then is have a go at installing over the weekend....watch out for the questions coming through this thread!!!

Do it an dI'll get mine open to tell you what I put!

A lot of the stuff there's already a 'default answer' so it's not as if you couldn't just leave it on factory default if you wanted to.

One thing I have done is this - my hospital insists that 4 is the floor whereas eg I don't treat a hypo of 3.9 immediately as I sit down to a meal, even though my DSN insists that I should ! - the meter knocks off some of the bolus anyway. (if I wasn't literally about to eat carbs then I would treat it but not when I have eg pie and mash going cold on the plate in front of me LOL) So I have my meter and software set at 3.7 for a hypo and just reset the meter to 4.0 before I go to the hospital where they download it too. LOL

There is a challenging papragraph in Lady Babs's letter ... if there is a genetic background to Type 1 Diabetes as is widely believed, the parents must be involved in some way .....the second statement is irrational and contradictory... if the causes are not known how can she categorically rule out diet and lifestyle ?

"So I would like to put it on the record that we are very clear, and always have been, that parents are in no way responsible for their child’s Type 1 diabetes. In fact, the causes of the condition are unknown and, certainly, they have nothing to do with diet or lifestyle."

Thats why i DONT buy newspapers. Someone elses veiw 😱

The offending newspaper, the Metro, is free isn't it ?

The point i was making was i dont give money to read someone elses view, REPORTERS 😱
