It's what I like about French bread, a lot of it is full of holes, so you just get crust and then holes whith just enough bread to support quite a lot of nice, lightly salted Normandy butter!
Have to second the jacket patato thing lol. But does look very good, the smell of freshly baked bread, hmmmmm, you can be forgiven for having a little too much.

Tried the baguettes yesterday but they haven't turned out so well. It's a long difficult process and I'm not sure whether you really need french flour or not.
It's strange, when we have French guest stay they go mad for british toast and say ' no we don't eat croissants they are too expensive'. French bread doesn't toast too well though.
Ciabatta is quite easy and has lots of big holes.
P.S. I shall be having my baguette for lunch with some chickpea, potato and chizo soup that the oh made in the Waring soup maker (48g per serving and 100 cal)
