It just goes to show you never know with this Diabetes thing! I have had my dear little 18m grandaugter to stay with me for the first time since I was dx. (I was worried in case I hypo'd in the night or something and couldn't be with her before) but It's all gone swimmingly, I didn't check too closely on my carbs and all weekend it's been in the 5.5's !!!! I have been struggling to get it that way for weeks!! and now as I've been a little lax on the carb-counting it's Freaking perfect!!!! SIGH ! 🙄

Well there you go borrow a Grandaughter on a perm bases :D
Sounds as if you have had a lovely weekend.

Have you been running higher? If so it could be that the extra activity with your granddaughter or even being more relaxed has helped with the levels.

I don't know Margie, it wasn't too bad around the 7's and then when I waked the dog it went down to the 4's, not been out today too much as it's rained, but certainly made up for it by running around after the baby. I think it's just that I haven't eaten a lot, haven't had time!!! so not much by the way of carbs to worry about. I usually have a roll at lunchtime with tuna or cream cheese and a salad, (mayo etc) but I just had a roll today and yesterday that was all and a yogurt! but I don't feel any the worse for it, so cut out the food -lower the levels!! (AND not too much insulin. only ben having around 3-4u with food)

I've found that constant pottering, without anything too strenuous is the best way to keep everything within range. No spikes and, as long as you have something low GI and alter your ratio to suit, you shouldn't go hypo.

Well done for managing it.🙂

Now repeat the experiment and see if it works again ! :D

LOL at Robster, years of being told that just cos you do it once you can't take it as read that will happen again !!!

Do it again!!!! I need a weeks sleep now!! maybe in a few months time!!! :0

Sounds like you had a great time with your grandaughter.

I find if I'm allowed to potter and do odds and ends the numbers are better than if I just sit in front of the telly all the time

Glad you had a good weekend and such excellent BGs, if only they would always be like that:D

Thanks all!! Yes I had a lovely weekend, she's such a little doll! I am so thankful now that I have my head around this darn nuisance that is D. and can have her to stay with me. (But as I said previously I need a weeks sleep now to make up for the excruciating early rises!!! ) 🙂
