Today Diabetes UK is celebrating World Diabetes Day!
www.diabetes.org.uk
World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. It’s now the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign.
It’s held every year on the 14 November to mark the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.
Volunteers and supporters are writing cards or making calls as part of our Thankathon, painting their nails blue for Nailing Diabetes, or spreading the word about our the 4Ts campaign.
Wishing you all a fabulous day and a HUGE THANK YOU for all you’re doing as part of our friendly and supportive online forum community - supporting each other, today and every day, to help us #RewriteTheStory for everyone living with and at risk of diabetes.
